What is Parole-In-Place Policy?
The Biden Administration Announces a “Parole-In-Place” policy to help families avoid Immigration Deportations for undocumented spouses of U.S. Citizens.
On June 18, 2024, President Biden announced that his administration will allow certain spouses of United States citizens to apply for “parole-in-place" from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This program, which has not yet started, will allow up to 550,000 people to receive temporary protections and work permits in the United States, and hopefully will allow for them to be granted lawful permanent resident (LPR) status (also known as a green card) through their spouses without risking deportation and separation from their families. Please continue to watch this space for updates regarding this new program.
